Avis Grace Burbank Ryan

Mrs. Avis Grace Burbank Ryan, 81 of Rockland died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at home after an illness of several months. The daughter of the late Albert and Florence Brosseau Burbank, she was born in St. Albans VT on July 15, 1927. She was raised and educated in Rockland where she has lived for the last 75 years. Mrs. Ryan enjoyed gardening, painting, knitting, drawing, walking and her dog, Florence. Wife of the late Daniel J. Ryan, she is survived by 4 sons, James J. Ryan and his wife, Mary of Rockland, Daniel J. Ryan and his wife, Sandy of Edgewater FL, Charles R. Ryan and his wife, Kathi of Rockland and Patrick C. Ryan and his wife, Tammy of Rockland, 1 daughter, Marie F. Shanahan and her husband, Mark of Plymouth, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was the sister of the late Jay and Albert Burbank and the late Fern Keene. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St in Rockland. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St. in ROCKLAND on Monday from 4-8 PM.
