Barbara J. Fontaine Mahn

Mrs. Barbara J. Fontaine Mahn, 78 of Rockland formerly of Whitman, a devoted wife of fifty three years to William F. Mahn and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Boston Medical Center in Boston. The daughter of the late Rudolph and Alice Govoni Fontaine, she was born in Whitman on February 21, 1933. Mrs. Mahn had been employed as a telephone operator and retired after many years as a real estate broker. She enjoyed time with family and friends, summers on Cape Cod, the ocean, gardening and cooking. She is survived by her husband William F. Mahn, 5 children, Pamela A. Hosimer and her husband Gene of MD, Gayle M. Mahn and her partner Danielle Nekimken of MD, William F. Mahn II of NH, Carla F. Chisholm and her husband Kenneth of Canton and Julie A. Mahn of Charlestown, grandmother of Erin Maddox, Andrea Kahkonen, Christiane Wood, Alexander and Josephine Mahn, Alison, Thomas and Caroline Chisholm, great grandmother of Cody and Jacob Kahkonen, sister of Jerome Fontaine of W. Bridgewater and the late Roland Fontaine. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St., in ROCKLAND on Monday from 4-7 PM. A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St. in Rockland. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
