Mrs. Barbara F. Simmons Smith, 67, of Hanover died Saturday at the Kindred Hospital of the Northeast in Braintree after an illness of several months. The daughter of the late Joseph and Isabel Parsons Simmons, she was born in Milton on April 24, 1938. She was raised and educated in Hyde Park and Mattapan and lived in Brantrock before moving to Hanover 47 years ago. Mrs. Smith enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Wife of the l.ate George F. Smith, she is survived by 2 sons, George J. Smith of Yakima WA and Brian P. Smith of Moreno Valley CA, 2 daughters, Margaret ''Peggy'' Baldassini of Hanover and Nancy Ann Hill of St. Petersburg FL, 5 grandchildren and 2 brothers, Robert Simmons of Carver and Arthur Simmons of Marshfield. Visitation in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 in HANOVER on Thursday morning from 7:30-8:30 followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover Street, Rte 139 in Hanover. Interment will be at a later date in Hanover Center Cemetery.
