Russell was born and raised in Boston, where he made many lifelong friends. He worked for many years as a construction laborers steward out of Union Local 223 in Dorchester, and he was also a proud member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Quincy.
An avid sports fan and longtime New England Patriots season ticket holder, Russell loved going to Patriots games—win or lose—and sharing that passion with family and friends. He enjoyed watching all sports, but nothing brought him more pride than seeing his own children excel in the things they enjoyed. That pride grew even deeper with his grandchildren. Russell showed up for everything—games, plays, art festivals, and any event where he could cheer them on.
Generous to his core, he would give you the shirt off his back… as long as it wasn’t his signed Steve Grogan game shirt.
Russell leaves behind so many friends and family whose lives were made brighter by his kindness and humor.
Above all, family meant everything to Russell. He was a devoted father to his three children: Erica Harrington and her husband Neal of Rockland, Mark Trabucco and his wife Erin of Abington, and Christopher Trabucco and his wife Devin of Medford. He was a loving Papa to his seven grandchildren: Caitlyn, Amelia, Gabby, Paul, Isla, Carter, and Dylan.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Trabucco, his brother Bernard Spector, and his parents, Beatrice Trabucco and Charles Trabucco.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 45 East Water Street, Rockland, on Sunday from 2-5 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St, Rockland, on Monday at 9 AM. Burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers his family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice in Russell’s memory.
