Clifford G. Olson, Jr.

Clifford was raised in Lower Mills and was a graduate from Hyde Park High School. He joined the United States Navy and served for many years. In 1953 he married the love of his life, Lenore (Bruce), and the two settled in Lower Mills to raise their family. Cliff worked for the MBTA as a laborer for many years. His greatest accomplishment was becoming the National Commander-in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

Cliff was an outgoing man with a larger than life personality. He was quite the storyteller and loved to tell stories of years past to anyone who would listen. He was very generous and was constantly helping others. Clifford enjoyed collecting lighthouses, boating on his lake, going to Plymouth for lobster and vacationing in Aruba. He was very proud of his home that he built for his family. Above all, he most loved spending time with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren.

Clifford was the loving husband of 69 years to Lenore D. Olson. Father of James Olson and his late wife Patricia of Dorchester, John Olson and his wife Marysusan Couturier of Framingham, Joseph Olson of S. Weymouth, Jean Marie Lanctot and her husband Mark of Sandown, NH. Grandfather of Katie McDonough and her husband Eamonn, Michael Olson, Michelle Lee Olson and her fiance Nick, Matthew Olson, Patrick Olson, Robert Olson, Jennifer Olson, William Olson, Ryan Clifford Lanctot, Evan Lanctot, and Julia Lanctot. Brother of the late Gladys Hain, late Barbara Ambrosino, Edith Salari, Donna Colomey, Carol Colomey, late Sheila Sweeny, and William Ryan. Great-grandfather of Aria and James McDonough. Longtime friend of Heidi Olson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 21st from 9:00AM-10:45AM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanson - 2 Maquan Street. A funeral mass will be held starting at 11:00AM at Holy Apostles Church (St. Joseph the Worker) - 1 Maquan Street. Burial will be held privately by the family on another day.
