Colleen Wirtz

A graduate of Quincy College, Colleen dedicated more than 30 years of her career to caring for others as a surgical technician at Milton Hospital, South Shore Hospital, and the Surgery Center of Easton. She took great pride in her work and was deeply devoted to her profession throughout her career.

Colleen was the beloved wife of the late John P. Wirtz of Hanover and the devoted mother of Eric Wirtz and his wife, Lori (DePaulo) Wirtz, of South Weymouth. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Ava Wirtz and her fiancé, Seth Brooks, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Sophia Wirtz of South Weymouth; sister of the late Charon Mathieson of Halifax.

Colleen had a lifelong love for animals and held a particularly special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Zeus. She was also an avid reader and writer and found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. Above all, Colleen cherished the people she loved and the time they shared together.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Colleen’s memory to the MSPCA-Angell, benefiting Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston.
