Daniel William Whalen Jr, 77, of Wheat Ridge CO died Friday, September 27, 2002 at his Sister's home in Hanover after a brief illness. The son of the late Daniel William and Annie L. Crosby Whalen Sr, he was born in Boston on March 3, 1925. He has lived in Colorado for over 30 years. Mr. Whalen served in the Marine Corps during WWII. He was the retired Vice President of the Colorado National Park, where he headed the Trust Department. Husband of the late Jenny Volpe Whalen, he is survived by 1 son, Martin A. Whalen of Loveland CO, 1 daughter, Margaret L. Manweiler of Arvada CO, 1 brother, Paul Whalne of Dorchester, 3 sisters, Ruth Gibbons of Hanover, Dorothy M. Foster of Quincy and Mary L. Parry of Scottsdale AZ and 4 Grandchildren. He was the Brother of the late Margaret Thivlerge. Funeral Services will be held in Arvada CO with Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge CO. Arrangements are by the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 in Hanover.
