
Donald J. Chapman, 74, of Hanson, formerly of Dorchester and Quincy, died unexpectedly on February 24, 2013. Son of the late Waldo J. and Dorothea Jager Chapman, he was born on July 27, 1938 in North Hampton, MA. Donald proudly served in the army during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years on the Boston fish piers. Donald loved fishing, going to casinos, and was an avid Boston sports fan. Donald was the devoted husband of Anita J. Meehan Chapman. He was the loving father of Donald Chapman and his wife Kimberly of Weymouth, Andrea Pendrak and her husband Stan of Hanson, and Linda Sweeney and her husband James of Hanson and Dorchester. He was the brother of Dorothea Kane of Holbrook, and the late Helen Davy, Barbara White, and Walter Chapman. Donald is also survived by his grandchildren Donald, Tara, James, Nora, Jake, Jared, Julia, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte 14 & 58 in HANSON on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St., Rte 14 in Hanson. Interment in Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson.
