Dorothy Clair Haddad

Dottie (Dorothy) was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is predeceased by her husband, William Haddad, of what would have been 77 years. She is survived by a son and three daughters: Linda Abi-Kheirs of Rockland, MA, Gregory Haddad and his wife Deborah of Ocala, FL, Donna Haddad and Susan Gregorio of Pembroke, MA; grandchildren, Michael Abi-Kheirs and his wife Nicole, Stephanie Haddad, Andrew Haddad and his wife Lauren, Jaclyn Gregorio; and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Christian and Nora. Dorothy is predeceased by her brothers, Dr. Frank Pomer, Sal Pomer and Joseph Pomer and predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Yarosh, Rose Whalen and Jeanette Regnier. She is survived by sisters Eleanor West and Marie Pomer and many nieces and nephews.

Dottie's motto was, "Ya gotta laugh!" She found humor in everything, and one could say she was the family clown, always trying to get a laugh out of you. After her husband died, she enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, New Orleans and family trips to Sicily and Spain. She enjoyed playing bingo and occasional trips to Foxwoods casino. She was an exceptional cook whose meals brought family and friends together around the table. Though she was Italian she learned to cook Lebanese food, William's nationality, and excelled at it. During her children's school years, their friends would stop at her house after school for homemade cakes and pastries.

Though she suffered from dementia in her later years, she still had her wit and always had a humorous comeback. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the memories she created with those who knew and loved her.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. (Route 53), Hanover, MA 02339. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Our Lady of the Angels (St. Mary’s Church), 392 Hanover St., Hanover, MA. A private graveside service for family will be held at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dorothy's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
