
Mrs. Dorothy M. Snell O'Brien, 88, of Rockland died Sunday, June 10, 2007 in the Marian Manor Nursing Home in Boston. She was born in Cohasset on July 31, 1918. Daughter of the late Charles and Viola Deloche Snell, she was raised and educated in Hingham and was a long time Rockland resident. Mrs. O'Brien was employed as a Receptionist at the South Shore Medical Center in Norwell in the 1970's and 1980's. She was a member of the Holy Family School Mothers Club in Rockland and was a long time Avid Red Sox Fan. She was a former member of the PM Club of Rockland, a former member of the Rockland Visiting Nurse Association, a former leader of Brownies and Girl Scouts and was active in many Cancer Fundraisers. Wife of the late Edward F. O'Brien, she is survived by 1 son, Jack E. O'Brien of South Boston; 1 daughter, Kathleen A. Peterson of Palmyra PA and 2 grandsons: Kyle A. O'Brien and Lukasz A. O'Brien, and several nieces & nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street in Rockland. Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water Street in ROCKLAND on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Joslin Clinic, 1 Joslin Place, Boston MA 02215.
