Doug was a graduate of Abington High School, he enlisted in the Navy in March of 1966, he served on the USS FULTON (AS-11) for 5 years and was Honorably discharged in December of 1971, earning the National Defense Service Medal.
Upon leaving the Navy he worked for Foxboro Company and later EMC, as an Electronics Engineer.
Doug was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Abington.
Doug was an avid train collector, bird watcher and firearms enthusiast. He also was a regular at Martin’s Restaurant with his Breakfast / Lunch crew.
Doug is survived by his cousins, Ted Broderick of Halifax and Kathy Lever (Broderick) of Alabama.
A Memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Abington, 219 Adams Street, Abington, on April 11th at 10AM.
