
Edward W. Monticone, 88 of Hanson, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Tuesday May 12, 2015. Born on August 6, 1926 in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Teresa (Baino) Monticone. Edward was educated at Boston English High School and Mass Audio and Electronics School. He was enlisted in the US Marine Corps during World War II and assigned to the 6 th Marine Division which was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for Action during the Battle of Okinawa. Edward was employed by the Department of Defense for 37 years as a contract/property administrator. Edward was the husband of the late Barbara (O'Neil) Monticone. He is survived by his children Robert Monticone of MD, Paul Monticone and his wife Anne of Plymouth, Janet Monticone of Weymouth, and Lynn McCormack and her husband Michael of Hingham. Edward is also survived by his grandchildren Jenna (Monticone) Stanley and her husband Sean of Braintree and Ashley, Derek, and Kelsey McCormack, all of Hingham. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 2 Maquan Street, Cr Rte 14&58, HANSON, from 4-7 PM on Monday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM at St Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan Street, Rte 14, Hanson. Burial to follow at Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson.
