

Edward S. Ryan, 70 of Hanover, formerly of Dedham, died on Tuesday February 12, 2013 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, after a brief illness. Born in Boston, MA on October 30, 1942, he was the son of the late Stuart and Margaret McGaffigan Ryan. Edward had been employed as a truck driver, loved fishing, his family and friends, and was a devoted Boston sports fan. Edward was the husband to the late Linda Dick Ryan. He is survived by his children Edward Ryan and his wife Lisa of Pembroke, Elizabeth Ryan and her husband Brett of Brockton, Leigh Ann Washington and her husband Charlie of Fort Mill, SC, and James Ryan of Palm Coast, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Samantha Poor, Brandon Poor, Kaleigh Ryan, Dylan Washington, Taylor Ryan, and Loren Washington. Edward was the brother of Margaret Black and her husband Robert of Dedham, the late Maureen Fernandes and his brother-in-law Joseph Fernandes of Norwood. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9AM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St, Rte 139 in Hanover. Internment at a later date. Donations in Edward's memory may be made out to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley, MA 02481. Edward's family would also like to extend their warmest thanks to the staff and residents of Hanover Legion and the staff at the South Shore Hospital.
