Mrs. Elizabeth G. Briggs Staples, of Hanover, Marshfield and Salt Springs FL. A spry young lady of 100 passed away peacefully at the South Shore Hospital surrounded by her family. Wife of the late Gilbert E. Staples, Betty was the mother of 1 son, Gary Staples and his wife Gail of Canton NY and 1 daughter, Martha McCaffrey of Hanover. Loving grandmother of Lori Staples and Trisha Geary of Cohoes NY, Jill Yu and her husband James of Woodside NY, Dr. Erin Staples and her husband Dr. Marc Chimonas of Ft Collins CO and Gilbert and John McCaffrey of Hanover. Betty is the oldest living graduate of Maine Eye and Ear Hospital of Portland ME and she has been nursing for 78 years. She had been a Visiting Nurse for Hanover and Cohasset and at the Board of Health in Hanover. Betty enjoyed camping with her husband. She was a past Matron of Scituate Chapter #213 and past Grand Matron of OES Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the National Campers and Travelers with her husband. Betty has a beautiful eternal garden of flowers from her 100th birthday party, so in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Shriner's Hospital, 51 Blossom St, Boston MA 02114 so others can see the beauty of life. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Friday from 4-8 PM with an Eastern Star Service at 7 PM. Interment private.
