Florence E. Thomas, 99 of Abington formerly of Rockland, passed away Monday June 2, 2014. The daughter of the late John and Mary Jane (MacEachern) Gavin, she was born June 17, 1914. For many years, Florence was a School Cafeteria Manager for the Rockland Public Schools. Wife of the late Edmund T. Thomas, she is survived by her daughter Beverly M. Gauquier and her husband Anthony of Rockland. Florence is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 45 East Water Street, ROCKLAND, on Friday from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St Rockland. Burial will follow at Blue Hills Cemetery, 700 West St. Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockland Food Pantry, 12 Church Street, Rockland MA 02370 or to the Abington Food Pantry, 127 North Quincy Street, Abington MA, 02351.
