

Born on March 6, 1937, Frank grew up in the Fields Corner section of Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester High School, Class of 1955. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Moore) Richards, also of Dorchester.
Frank was the devoted son of the late James Frank Richards of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Grace Anne Nayler of Boston. He was the cherished brother of John E. Richards and Robert Richards, both residing in Florida.
He is lovingly survived by his five children: Frank Richards Jr. of Whitman, Michelle (Steven) Carter of Texas, Bruce (Suzanne) Richards of Abington, Denise Torres of Hanover, and Lynda (Andrew Meleo) Richards of North Randolph. Frank was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him tremendous joy.
Frank proudly served his country as a submariner in the United States Navy. He was deployed and served on the USS Archerfish; a testament to his strength, discipline, and patriotism to his country.
Throughout his life, Frank explored various careers, including being a successful salesman at Gillespie Ford as well as an accomplished photographer. Ultimately, he dedicated himself to his true passion, coin collecting. He was the owner of a reputable business, Tri Town Coin of Quincy where he was widely known for his expertise and enthusiasm. As a devoted numismatist, he remained active in the field until his passing and was a respected life member of the American Numismatic Association.
He was also a longtime member of the Randolph Elks Lodge and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), where he formed lasting friendships and remained active in supporting fellow veterans.
Frank will be remembered for his incredible depth of knowledge and his passion for history and coin collecting. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in our hearts always.
A private family service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
