

Genevieve S. (Romanowsky) Coughlin, a long time Carver resident and former Rockland resident, entered into eternal rest, 88 years young on November 18th at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston, surrounded by loving family members Born and raised in Quincy, the loving daughter of the late Felix and Nellie Romanowksy. Gen resided in Rockland for several years before retiring in Randolph. In her later years she was a welcomed member of her daughter Colleen's loving and caring family who cared for her in such a special way in their Carver home. After graduating Quincy High School and attending business school, Gen was employed in a clerical position at the Fore River Shipyard. As was the case with many women of her generation, Gen chose to put her career on hold to raise and nurture her loving family. Years later, Gen returned to work as a "lunch lady" in the Rockland School Systems for many years. She continued her career at the Norfolk County Respiratory Hospital in Braintree as the dining manager until retiring many years later. Upon retiring Gen enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and traveled throughout New England antiquing with her devoted friend and longtime companion, the late Dominic Fiaschetti. Wife of the late Robert Coughlin Sr and loving mother of Maureen Coughlin of Beverly, Robert Coughlin and his wife Susan of Rockland, Kathleen (Tink) Morrison and her husband Bruce of Richmond VA, Arleen Gatto of Randolph and her caregiving daughter Colleen Silva and her husband Brian of Carver. Gen was the doting grandmother to her 16 grandchildren, Douglas Coughlin, Chip Kenney, Erin Dougherty, Danielle and Melissa Coughlin, and Kaitlyn Trowbridge, Benjamin and Matthew Morrison, Carin LeSeure, Joshua and Josias Gatto, and Jessica Janusz, David, Nathan, Alex, and Makayla Silva and 15 great grandchildren. Gen was the loving sister of the late Helen Kozlowski, Felicia MacDonald, and baby sister Jenny. Gen was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St in ROCKLAND on Sunday from 4-8 PM. A funeral mass celebrating Gen's life will be held on Monday at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, Union St in Rockland, followed by internment at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in Gen's name.
