

Born on January 3rd, 1946, in Sienno Poland, Halina was the beloved daughter of Zygmunt and Helena Wagner. Halina grew up and attended school and college in Jelenia Gora, Poland, becoming an accountant at a local business. In 1981- Halina, her husband Leonard and daughter Katarzyna fled Poland during the Solidarity Movement by way of Austria to provide a better life for Katarzyna. Years later, Halina, Leonard and Katarzyna immigrated to the United States. Shortly after, she became a United States Citizen, in which she took great pride. Halina worked as a home health aide and teacher for a number years and took great pride in caring for others.
Outside of work, she enjoyed traveling, returning to Poland several times and taking her Granddaughter, Michelle, all over the world including Poland, Paris, Nova Scotia and even Vegas- to name a few. Plus everywhere her and husband traveled.
Halina is survived by her husband Leonard Sawicki, Daughter Katarzyna Heath and her husband Andrew of East Bridgewater, her Granddaughter Michelle Sadowski-Jepsen and her husband James of Dorchester, brother Mieczyslaw Feliks Wagner and his wife Bozena of New Market Ontario Canada, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews around the world. She was preceded in death by her Parents Zygmunt and Helena.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on July 18th at Our Lady of Czestochowa, 655 Dorchester Ave, Boston, MA. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to www.danafarber.jimmyfund.org
Though deeply missed, Halina’s love, kindness, and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Halina’s family would like to thank all of the doctors at Dana Farber for all of their kindness, compassion, and hardwork given to Halina and the family in our greatest time of need.
