Helen Anna Wright

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Helen was raised with a strong sense of compassion, kindness, and family—qualities that defined her throughout her life. She later made her home on Long Island, New York, where she and her beloved husband, Bob, raised their family before settling in Pembroke, Massachusetts. In her later years, she lived in Columbia, Connecticut.

Helen retired from Silver Lake Regional High School, where she was known for her dedication and warm spirit. She was a selfless and caring woman who always put others before herself and found joy in helping those around her.

She will be remembered for her bright smile and her signature lipstick, which she kept on her nightstand “just in case of an emergency.”

Above all, Helen cherished her family. She adored her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. After moving in with her daughter and son-in-law, Helen quickly became “one of the girls” among her daughter’s friends, who welcomed and loved her as one of their own. She also shared a special bond with her beloved grand dog, Maggie, who faithfully stayed by Helen’s side and eagerly awaited the many daily treats. Maggie has already felt the loss of her beloved Grammy.

Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Wright; her parents, Alfred and Mae Kehlbeck; and her dear brother, Robert Kehlbeck.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Gregg Wright and his wife, Vanessa, of Dover, Massachusetts; her daughter, Christine Roderiques and her husband, Christopher, of Columbia, Connecticut; her treasured grandchildren, James, MaKenzie, and Anja; her sisters-in-law, Boni Meddock and her husband, Bill, and Elaine Hammon; many cherished nieces and a cherished nephew; extended family members; dear friends; and her beloved grand dog, Maggie.

Friends and family are kindly invited to attend a visitation for Helen from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 12 in Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Hanover, MA 02339. A service will follow from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
