

James W. Hurley, age 79 died November, 3, 2014 at South Shore Hospital after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Kathleen (Murnane), son Mark and wife Collette of Boston, Daughter, Patricia Hurley of Pembroke and one grandchild, Katie. He is also survived by four brothers and one sister. Frank Hurley of Quincy, MA, Helen Forbes of Easton, MA, Gerald Hurley of Concord, MA, John Hurley and his wife Judy of Norwell, MA and William Hurley and his wife Liz of Braintree, MA. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Jim was employed by Pneumatic Scale Corporation for 42 years. He attended Boston Public Schools and Northeastern University for Engineering. He holds many certificates from MIT as well. In his younger days, Jim was a tremendous athlete. He was named pitcher of the year by the city of Boston in the early fifties. He was very proud of being a left handed pitcher. Jim, especially loved spending time with his family. His one and only granddaughter, Katie was the apple of his eye and as sick as he was he lit up when he saw her. Visiting hours in Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 HANOVER, on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 St Thecla's Church 145 Washington St, Rte 53, Pembroke. Burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne will be private
