
Mr. James K. Manley, 84, of Rockland died Friday, November 5, 2004 in the Southwood Nursing Home in Norwell. The son of the late Clarence and Alice Quigley Manley, he was born in Boston on December 31, 1919. He was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Trade High School. He has lived in Rockland for over 50 years. Mr. Manley served in the Army during WWII and was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 star, the Asiatic Pacific service ribbon with 1 bronze battle star and a Presidential Unit Citation. Until his retirement in 1988, he was employed as a Printer for Star Lithograph Company in South Weymouth. He was an avid fisherman and was an amateur artist. He is survived by his wife, Mary M. McEnrue Manley, 1 brother in law, Ernest Chekoulias of Rockland, nephew, Scott Chekoulias of Hanover, 4 nieces, Judy Chekoulias of Rockland, Jane Leonard of Hubbardston, Cindy Chekoulias of Pembroke and Anita Drapeau of Kingston. Also survived by 2 grand nieces and 3 grand nephews. He was the brother of the late Harold Manley. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street in Rockland. Internment in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 41-45 East Water Street in ROCKLAND, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
