

James "Fred" Moore, 81 of Rockland formerly a 33 year resident of Norwell, passed away on Monday, Dec 22, 2014. Fred was the son of the late James and Margaret Moore. He was born in Somerville on July 11, 1933. Fred served in the Army during the Korean War. He had been employed as Director of Exhibits at the Museum of Science in Boston until 1972 when he resigned to start his own Museum Exhibits Design business. He was an avid reader, enjoyed drawing, painting, creating original art and spending time with his family and friends. He exhibited his works at Art Shows throughout the South Shore. He was former chairman of the Board of Woodland Place and former Gold Medal Skating Judge. Fred is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Ann M. (Farrell) Moore, devoted father of James "Brian" Moore and his wife Maggie of Halifax, William R. Moore and his wife Kristin of Hanover, Robert T. Moore and his wife Kim of Sharon and Thomas L. Moore and his wife Suzanne of NC. Brother of Grace Richmond of Medford, Roberta Daigneau of Woburn, Sandra Hixon of OK, Thomas Moore and his wife Mary of ME and the late Shirley Blethen. Proud grandfather of Christopher and his wife Eileen, James "Michael", Hayden, Anthony, Erin and the late Amy Moore. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in HANOVER on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in St. Helen Church, 383 Washington St, Rte 53 in Norwell. Burial at Washington St. Cemetery at a later date.
