James P. Nolan

Jimbo enjoyed people. He always had a smile and a friendly word. His kindness was felt by all those who crossed his path. He loved his grandchildren and watching them play sports. Daily walks with his beloved dog, Asia, provided him with so much happiness. In the last few years of his life, he was an Uber driver. He thoroughly enjoyed it. It gave him an opportunity to meet many people, from all walks of life. He loved chatting with them or just driving quietly listening to Elvis. He lived his life to the fullest.

Jimbo was born in Cambridge, MA on January 16, 1946. He was raised in Belmont and summered in Marshfield. The son of the late James and Marie (Ryan) Nolan formerly of Rockland, MA. Jimbo is survived by his sister, Virginia (Nolan) and her husband Robert Hogan of E. Bridgewater, his former wife and friend, Maryann (Sheehan) Nolan, his daughters, Julie DiCarlo, Amy and her husband Joseph Gorbey and Katelyn Gilpatrick, all of Hanover, MA. He loved, adored and was so proud of his grandchildren, Nolan, Ellie and Mikey DiCarlo, Henry and Thomas Gorbey and Natalie Gilpatrick. He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great friends.

Visiting hours will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Rte. 53, Hanover on Wednesday, June 2nd from 4-7 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 3rd at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover Street, Rte. 139, Hanover. Burial to follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to either the Jimmy Fund, www.jimmyfund.org or Wounded Warriors, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Both causes were important to him.
