My sincere condolences to Ronnie’s family. I first met Ron in 1976 through my Father who worked as a full time patrolman with Ronnie. 
As I began my law enforcement career in 1983 Ronnie taught me so much in the early days. I was fortunate to work side by side with Ron’s  brother Gordon with HPD full time at the mall once graduating from the academy. Ron was a master at firearms and helped me enhance my career into Federal Law Enforcement service in 1986 were I began my career with United States Capitol Police Department.  Ronnie was instrumental in forming my abilities in Federal Law Enforcement service.  Ron was always very good to me through the many years. I recently spent time with Ron and brother Gordon for breakfast and coffee a short time ago. While Ron was very ill he insisted in going to my Mothers funeral a few short months ago. Ron had such strong will and determination for life that I will never forget. I had so much respect for Ron during the many years I was honored and fortunate to have known a great man and friend. I will miss Ron tremendously and will never forget the many good times I have shared with the Davis family.

first met Ronnie when I was about 10 years old when he would stop by my parents house to have coffee with my parents with whom he was friends. Later when I became a Patrolman for the Hanover Police I had the HONOR of having Ronnie as my Patrol Sergeant and training officer. Ronnie taught me how to stay calm in situations and use common sense and respect when dealing with the people. He taught me many values throughout my career. I saw immediately by working with Ronnie that he was a person who received respect and was liked and respected by all of his fellow officers and everyone in the public. I could not have had a better training Sergeant than Ronnie.
I had a very close friendship with Ronnie from first meeting him. I had so much fun and memories  with Ronnie and Judy doing the Civil War reenacting, WWII reenactments , guitar playing,   or just hanging out together. 
Ronnie was one of my closest friends and often like a father figure to me.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of all the good times and memories we shared  together. Ronnie was a great man and a true friend and I  am thankful and honored to have had the priveledge to be his friend.

Ronnie it has been a long time since I have seen you. I always enjoyed having you live at my house when you rented a room from me. You will be sadly missed. You were a Hanover treasure. Rest in peace my friend.

Words can’t describe what a great person and human-being you were, not just to me but (all) who had the pleasure of ever …. meeting you. It didn’t take only but a few minutes to find out how genuine, kind, caring, and willing to help out others and open minded person you really were !! One who could talk on just about any topic or subject, but who really loved his country and was proud to serve-it also as a Soldier and a Police Officer. But (all) the great memories and the many things I shared in knowing you will always be there and cherished in my life and especially your family, love-ones and friends along the way. So, as time goes on in life and the bond and that …  (special-hand) shake you always gave when I was leaving will never be forgotten to me … and others. The entire family meant so much to you and especially you-to-us !!!  We, (all)  are going to miss you and your smile  mostly Laurie her Big Brother. Now, that Heaven is waiting for you with family, friends, and love ones with open arms  (it’s) time to say goodbye for-now until we meet again in Paradise with Our Lord and Savior. You’ll be truly missed and it was a privilege to be called your friend in my life …  🙏  Andy C. 

Ronnie, thanks for all the breaks you give me! You were the best law informant officer Hanover ever had! Bar none. I will never forget the night you gave me advice about drinking! And razin’ hell. Change my life forever  I stop drinking at 22 and 78 yrs. Later you save me! 
Doesn’t seem like thank you is enough! 

We have lived across the street from Ron and Judy for so many years now. We have gotten very close to Ron these past couple years especially, it’s so hard to imagine looking over now knowing that he is not there. He was the nicest man, we consider ourselves lucky to have known him. To say we will miss him is an understatement. Rest in peace, Mr Davis 🥲💙🇺🇸

Very sorry to hear of Ronnies passing, and my sincerest condolences to his entire extended family.     I had the honor of knowing Ronnie, and working with him at HPD for many years, 1986 up till his retirement.   He was my first shift patrol Sgt. my first 5 years on the job as a rookie cop.   I quickly learned Sgt Davis / Ronnie was a living legend and true blue hero in the area, and highly respected and regarded in the Law Enforcement community and far beyond..  I spent a lot of time with Ronnie both on the job and off duty over the years, whether it be some specialized training classes away, cookouts & parties, playing cards with some of the old school officers ( **always wearing our old 6 shooters and cowboy hats  with a few bottles of good bourbon and Scotch Whisky on the table, with never a shot fired, except from a glass ! ),  we always had a great time.  Times I will always cherish and fondly  remember forever.      I certainly learned a lot from Ronnie over the years, and always looked up to him,  still do and always will,  he ALWAYS had your back.    
Ronnie was quite the historian also, and was a wealth of knowledge regarding military history, especially the War between the states and WW2, and he loved his reenactments, a couple of which I attended with him.  Ronnie was a true red, white and blue  American hero, proud police officer, and  US Army veteran !!    
Thanks for all you personally did for me and everyone else Sgt Davis, may you Rest In Peace with Miss Judy now.    You'll both always be missed and never forgotten sir.

We’re going to miss you big brother! Even though the past two years have been hard, you were always in a good mood in spite of your pain. You always had a joke to tell on our way to our lunches at Standish Grill. You were always thoughtful, smart, kind and generous and I’m happy for the memories and time we spent together. 
Even though you’ve only been gone for a few days it seems like forever and life will never be the same ❤️

My big brother was always my rock and my hero. I will miss him so much. He loved doing the Civil war reenactments and we exchanged stories about working with horses.
 His sense of humor reminded me of Johnny Carson. Ronnie was always fun to be with and always had a funny joke or story to share.
 He always called me Beans and it wasn't till after he passed I found out from where the name came. I shall always be Beans and he my big brother.
 I love you Ronnie. Until we meet again.

My folks and I got to know Judy & Ronnie from The Old School Cafe. Through the years, both my folks have passed, and I would run into Ronnie around town and he’d fill me in on Judy’s status. His eyes would tear up every time he would talk about her.  I saw him after Judy had passed and he was so lonely without her.  He’s with her again. Rest easy Ronnie.  Your jokes were legendary.

Ron was not only my brother but my hero. We were on the Hanover PD and Army reserver together and spent many hours playing music. My life will never be the same you will be sadly missed

Count me on the long list of young officers that Ronnie helped out. He fixed my service weapons more than once, I'd have to force him to take my money. He was an old school police officer, class, tough but measured and kind. He was a great role model in our Hanover community, I'll never forget Ronnie. My most precious memories were when he'd come out to listen to me play at my gigs, l was honored that he'd take the time to come out. A guitarist in his own right, he loved music. I'm gonna sing one for ya Ronnie, tomorrow night, my next gig, an old request of yours', a Waylon Jennings tune. Thank you Ronnie Davis, I'm glad l knew you and learned from you..

Ronnie had big hands and a big heart. He was not just my Father-in-law but a great friend. I will miss talking cars and Army with him.  He was an important part of my life
