

Janice Grosso King, Age 77, of Rockland and more recently of Hanover, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at South Shore Hospital, after a several-year illness. The daughter of the late Peter Grosso and the late Cecile Latendre Delgiacco, she was born in Arlington, MA and attended Weymouth schools. Married for 28 years, she was the wife of the late Stephen King.
Survived by her son Stephen of Hanover and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
She is predeceased by sisters; Dorothy Shea and Evelyn Stevens, brothers; Robert “Bob” Grosso, Peter “Jimmy” Grosso and wife Liz Goodrow Grosso, and Anthony “Butch” Delgiacco.
Janice retired from a 28-year career as a legal secretary at the law firm of Foley Hoag LLP in Boston and previously worked for many years at a home-based business as a legal transcriptionist producing court transcripts.
She had many interests including traveling, especially to Las Vegas, Florida, California and Tucson to visit friends and family, but her favorite trip was to sightsee and take cooking classes in Italy which had always been a longtime dream. She spent time at the beach, sewing, quilting, cooking, reading and going to the movies, especially loving all things Clint Eastwood, as anyone who knew her can attest to. She received many ribbons at local shows and fairs for her prized quilts. Her best loved movie was The Wizard of Oz. She admitted to watching it at least 50 times over the years, always with a jumbo box of popcorn on her lap.
She was a former member of Herring Run Quilters Guild in Hanover and briefly volunteered at South Shore Hospital after retirement. She loved all animals and raised many beautiful cats through the years.

Visiting hours will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 45 East Water Street, Rockland, on Monday, October 17th from 10am - 12pm. Burial to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rockland.
