Jeffrey Scott Chase

Jeffrey Scott Chase, 76, of Bridgewater, MA, passed away peacefully following a brief and courageous battle with lymphoma on July 18, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Jeff was born Sept. 1, 1949 to Everett and Eleanor Chase. Proudly raised on Western Ave in Easton, Jeff graduated from Oliver Ames High School where he starred on the basketball team and developed life-long friendships.

Jeff went on to study at Boston University before beginning a decades long career in mechanical engineering, contracting, and construction. Jeff served as President of Cox Engineering Company, President of SMACNA Boston, as Management Trustee on the Thomas S. Gunning Scholarship Foundation, among other positions. He was also proudly involved in supporting families of Massachusetts military service members.

An ultimate Boston sports fan, Jeff loved attending the Beanpot with his closest friends. Always cheering on his beloved Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics, Jeff never wavered in his love of the game through the good, bad and ugly. He enjoyed attending games with his family, especially cheering on Navy at the annual Army Navy football game. Jeff loved spending summers on Nantucket with his family and never missed a chance to dive into the waves at Cisco beach. He loved a good history book, a paper copy of the Boston Globe, and a stiff drink promptly at 5 o’clock.

Jeff is survived by his loving partner Anne Vigeant of Padanaram. He leaves behind his three children, Sarah (Michael) Baxter of New York, Suzanne (Joshua) Brooks of Scituate, and Samuel (Brenna) Chase of Milton as well as their mother Janet Chase.

Jeff was a proud Grandad to ten grandchildren, Rebecca, Lillian, Claire and Henry Baxter, Elizabeth, Benjamin and James Brooks, and Everett, Cecilia, and Campbell Chase. He leaves behind his favorite brother, George, and favorite sister, Susan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jeff’s family would like to specifically thank the Feldberg 7 Nurses at BIDMC for their skilled and compassionate care.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jeff’s life in the Sullivan Funeral Home 551 Washington St. Hanover (RTE 53) on Sunday, July 26th from 2-5pm. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff’s name to the Thomas S. Gunning Scholarship Foundation.
