John R. Cashman

Mr. John R. Cashman, 74 of Barre VT died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a short illness. He was born in Quincy, on May 9, 1935. The son of the late Frank and Alice Casey Cashman, he was raised and educated in Norwell and received a Bachelor's Degree from Longbeach State College in CA and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington in Seattle WA. He was employed by the State of Vermont as an Author, having written various books on Hazardous Materials and First Responders for Vermont Firefighters. He has lived in Barre VT for the last 40 years. Mr. Cashman served in the Marine Corps and was the step son of the late Virginia Williams Cashman. He is survived by his wife Mary Regan Cashman, 2 sons, Atty. John F. Cashman of Dallas TX and Lt. Col. Patrick Cashman US Army currently stationed in Afghanistan, 1 brother, Frank Cashman of Gaylord MI, 1 sister, Ellen Cashman of Mazatlan Mexico and 4 grandchildren, Katherine Elizabeth Cashman, Colin Cashman, John Patrick Cashman and Kelsey Cashman. Funeral Mass at a later date in St. Monica Church in Barre VT. Interment in Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell
