
John F. Connor, 96, of Quincy, died Thursday, January 3, 2002, in the Marina Bay Nursing Home in Quincy after a short illness. The son of the late James P. and Mary E. Boyle Connor, John was born in Quincy on June 8, 1905. He was raised and educated in Quincy and lived in Plympton from 1966 until June of 2000. He was formerly employed as a Quarterman and Pipe Fitter for Bethlehem Steel and General Dynamics at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy. He was a member of the Fore River Long Service Club. Mr. Connor was a former Registrar of Voters in Plympton, a member of the Senior Citizens, a member of the Historical Society, a member of the Garden Club and he was the Assistant Forestry Warden. Husband of the late Margaret A. McHugh Connor, he is survived by a son, James P. Connor of Kingston, 2 daughters, Elizabeth Twombly of Chelmsford and Joan Capadonna of Braintree, a sister, Esther O'Rourke of Quincy, 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Mary Farren and the brother of the late Margaret McNeil. Funeral Mass on Monday, January 7, 2002, at 9am in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street in Rockland. Internment in Holy Family Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 41-45 East Water Street, Rockland on Sunday 4-7 PM.
