John Michael Hoffman, 73, of Norwell, died Thursday, Dec. 24, in the Mass General Hospital in Boston. He was born in Brockton, July 8, 1936, a son of the late John A. and Elizabeth Hand Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a steam engineer for Boston Edison for 31 years. He enjoyed woodworking and boating. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Murphy Hoffman; one son, John E. Hoffman and his wife Lisa of Bridgewater; three daughters, Ellen E. Woods and her husband Stephen of Brockton, Stacey A. Kubalek and her husband Christopher of Arizona and Kristen L. Marzocca of Arizona; one sister, Ann Burke and her husband Thomas N. Burke of Brighton; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte. 53, Hanoveron Monday from 4-7 PM. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, at 9 AM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Rte. 139 in Hanover. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery in Randolph.
