
Mr. John P. Hurley, 58, of Pembroke died Thursday, September 16, 2004 in the Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Worcester on September 13, 1946. The son of Eleanor C. Ryan Hurley of Worcester and the late John F. Hurley. He was raised and educated in Worcester and was a Graduate of Assumption Prep and a 1968 Graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. Mr. Hurley served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired 2 years ago as the Budget Director for the Department of Employment and Training for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He was a past member and past treasurer of the Pembroke Jaycees, a member of the Presidents Club at the College of the Holy Cross and Mr. Hurley enjoyed Sailing. He is survived by his wife, Patricia O'Donnell Hurley, his mother, Eleanor C. Ryan Hurley of Worcester, 1 brother, Paul M. Hurley of LasVegas NV and 1 sister, Anne R. Hurley of Castle Rock CO. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 20, 2004 at 10:00 AM in St. Thecla Church, 145 Washington Street, Rte 53 in North Pembroke. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte in HANOVER on Sunday from 2-6 PM.
