
John J. ?Jack? Duffy, 76, of Pembroke died Tuesday, December 17, 2002 in his home after a long illness. The son of the late John E. and Catherine V. Grady Duffy, he was born in Worcester on January 2,1926. He was raised and educated in Worcester and was a Graduate of Worcester Classical High School. He served in the Navy during WWII and was the recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. After the War he Graduated from St. Anselm College in Manchester NH, where he was Past President of the St. Anselm National Alumni Association for many years. He retired in 1998 as the President of J.J. Duffy Adjustment Service in Marshfield. Mr. Duffy was a Member of the Pembroke Country Club, a Member of the Mass Independent Insurance Adjusters, he was an avid Golfer, a Red Sox Fan and enjoyed Boating. Mr. Duffy had lived in Pembroke the past 34 years. He is survived by his Wife, Helen M. Cronin Duffy, 3 sons, Timothy M. Duffy of Pembroke, Daniel T. Duffy of Center Strafford NH and John J. Duffy Jr. of McLean VA, 1 daughter, Kathleen Duffy Mazan of McLean VA, 1 brother, Thomas Duffy of Sterling MA, 6 grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was the brother of the late Daniel P. Duffy and the late Julia Coomey. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, December 20, 2002 at 10 AM in St. Thecla's Church, 145 Washington Street, Rte 53 in North Pembroke. Interment will be in the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne at 3 PM. Visiting Hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 in Hanover on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
