John “Jack” Clancy, of West Bridgewater and formerly of Brockton, passed away on May 3, 2022 at the age of 66, surrounded by loved ones, after a heroic fight with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). He was the son of the late Rita (Madden) and Daniel Clancy.
Jack was born and raised in Brockton. He attended Brockton High School and worked for many years as a custodian for the Brockton School Department. Jack went on to define a career for himself as a true “Jack of All Trades” and handyman, and worked for dozens of local businesses and homeowners applying his skills in plastering, repair work and carpentry. He often worked two or three jobs at a time, including many hours spent bartending at a variety of places in the area.
Jack was full of life - happiest when he was surrounded by loved ones, with incredible music playing, smiling, laughing and dancing. He had a passion for music, most notably Elvis. Jack was also a passionate fisherman and his favorite pastime was spending a Sunday afternoon at his “secret” pond fishing with his daughter.
Jack was the loving father of Jillian Clancy of Quincy. Brother of Rita and her husband James “Obie” O’Brien of Brockton, D. Clancy Ulianelli of Middleboro, the late Raymond Clancy, Michael Clancy of Middleboro, Noreen Clancy of Bridgewater, and Daniel Clancy and his wife Cathy of Bridgewater. He is also survived by his dearest lifelong friends John Brady of Raynham, Joe Akstin of Buzzards Bay, and Danny Tibbetts of Raynham - as well as many nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.
Jillian would also like to send her sincerest appreciation to the staff at Beth Israel Deaconess, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as Kindred Hospice.
Visiting hours will take place on Saturday, May 7th from 12:00PM-4:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St. Cor. Rte. 14 & 58, Hanson, MA 02341. Burial will take place privately by the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in honor of Jack Clancy to the American Brain Tumor Association.
