
Mr. John P. Maguire Jr, 83, of Hanover died Wednesday, November 12, 2003 in the Coyne Healthcare Facility in Rockland after a long illness. The son of the late John P. and Mary V. Coyle Maguire Sr, he was born in Boston on December 19, 1919. He was raised and educated in Brighton and attended Notre Dame and was a Graduate of Suffolk University. He lived in Duxbury then Wellsley for 10 years before Hanover 2 Months ago. He began as a School Teacher at the Rondout Valley Central School in Kingston NY, where he taught from 1959 until 1965. He began Teaching in Duxbury and retired in 1986 as a School Teacher at Duxbury High School. Mr. Maguire served in the Navy during WWII. He was a Member of the Mass Teachers Association and the Duxbury Teachers Association. He is survived by his wife, Anita R. Wattles Maguire, 2 daughters, Stephanie A. Leber and her husband, John of Hanover and Barbara A. Garvey and her husband, Mark of Hanover, 1 sister, Helen P. Maguire of Wellesley and 5 grandchildren, Michael Leber, Julie Leber, Tyler Garvey, Kyle Garvey and Derek Garvey. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 11 AM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover Street, Rte 139 in Hanover. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery in Wellesley. Visiting Hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 in Hanover on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Activities Fund at Coyne Healthcare, 56 Webster Street, Rockland, MA 02370.
