John Patrick Sweeney

John Patrick Sweeney of Weymouth passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the age of 50 with his loving family by his side. John was born October 6, 1972 and was the beloved son of Denis Sweeney who passed away in December 2017, and Patricia (Corbett) Sweeney of Pembroke. He also leaves behind his sisters, Kathy Prince of Milton and Christine Sweeney of Milton. He was the uncle to Jack, Devin, and Mabelle Prince as well as Denis and Bridget Condon. He also predeceases aunts, uncles, cousins and loyal friends. 

Denis and Patricia Sweeney lovingly raised John in Pembroke.  He was a proud “Double Eagle” graduating from Boston College High School in 1990 and then Boston College in 1994 with a degree in accounting. John spent the beginning of his career living in Savin Hill in Dorchester and working in finance at Hellman Jordan and then DG Capital Management in downtown Boston. More recently he moved to Weymouth and began project work for a construction and remodeling company. 

Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life at The Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in Hanover on Friday November 18th from 4-7pm. His funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Angels Parish- St. Thecla’s, 145 Washington St. Rte 53 in Pembroke Saturday, November 19th at 10 AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society www.cancer.org
