
Mr. Joseph B. Chodor Sr, 85, of Hanover died Saturday, September 6, 2008 in the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a short illness. He was born in Boston on June 23, 1923, the son of the late Martin and Agnes Chodor. He was raised and educated in South Boston and lived in Dorchester before moving to Hanover in 1976. Mr. Chodor retired in 1984 as a Clerk for Conrail. He served in the Army during WWII and saw Ground Combat service in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, the Ardennes and in Central Europe. He was the recipient of the Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon. He was a lire member of the Boston VFW. He enjoyed Gardening and woodworking. He donated many woodworking gifts to the Council on Aging, St. Mary's Church and to friends. Husband of the late Helen J. Manning, he is survived by 1 son, Joseph B. Chodor Jr. of East Bridgewater, 1 daughter, Donna M. Rollins of Hanover and 5 grandchildren, Glenn, Grant, Ashley, Eric and Alex. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 11 AM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Rte.139 in Hanover. Interment will be in Hanover Center Cemetery. Visiting Hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 in HANOVER on Tuesday from 2 4 & 7-9PM.
