Joseph William Musso

Joseph “Joe” William Musso, of Norwell, MA, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2017 surrounded by family.  He is survived by his adoring wife and soulmate, Kathleen Breault Musso. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage and partnership with a special party at their home.  He was the loving father of five daughters and their spouses: Andrea and Paul Lagzdins, Kimberly Linnehan and Tim Brackney, Kathleen and Paul Jeffers, Kerri and Richard Ramponi, and Jennifer and Matthew Kelly, and the proud “Papa” of eight grandchildren: Joseph, PJ and Kevin Lagzdins, Shea Linnehan, Madison Jeffers, Anna and Aaron Ramponi, and Shoshana Kelly.  Joe was born on March 4, 1944 in South Boston, MA, to Mary and Santo Musso, both immigrants from Sicily, and is predeceased by his siblings, Sarah Roche, Mary Cassarino, and Angelo Musso. He was a veteran of the US Army, stationed in Heidelberg, Germany from 1962-1964.  Joe worked for the MBTA for 26 years, in several different capacities and always without complaint.  He enjoyed the hard-earned benefit of an early retirement and had the joy of helping to care for his grandchildren. He was also an enthusiastic staff member of Trader Joe’s in Hanover.  He found great pleasure in simple things, whether it was gardening, having hours long breakfasts with his cousins, watching his beloved Red Sox, or listening to “the king”, Elvis Presley as he made pasta sauce. In 2010, he was grateful for the opportunity to visit his father’s hometown of Fiummefreddo di Sicilia and reunite with his cousins Franco and Carmelina Musso. He was a deeply loyal friend and touched many people with his kindness, mentor-ship, and unconditional support. Joe will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in Hanover on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Church Hill, United Methodist Church, 11 Church St in Norwell on Wednesday, September 6th at 10 AM.
