Kenneth Allen Dyer

Kenneth (Ken) Allen Dyer – a Pembroke, Massachusetts resident, died October 6, 2021. Ken was born in Boston on March 12, 1935. He is the son of the late Russell M. and the late Alice I (Robertson) Dyer. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years - Anna Catherine (Daniels) Dyer. Ken’s family includes his son, the late Kenneth Dyer, Jr.; his daughter, Linda Boucher and the late Clifford Boucher of Billerica; his son Robert Dyer and his wife, Debbie (Elsner) Dyer of Pembroke; and his son William Dyer and his wife Sherri (Holman) Dyer of Pembroke. He is also survived by his sister, Judith (Dyer) Murray and her husband John Murray of Hanson, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Marie (Dyer) Konetchy and the late Richard Konetchy of Balwin, MO.

Ken had a very full life. In addition to raising a family, he served his country as a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard from May 17, 1953, to July 12, 1987. An honor he was so proud of. Ken served all of his years as a member of the 102d Fighter Interceptor Wing, located at the former Otis Air National Guard Base, now, Joint Base Cape Cod, under the command of the late General Charles Sweeney.

He was an avid New England sports fan and a former member of the BoSox Club. He is a member of the Weymouth B.P.O.E. (Elks), a former UMass Boston Campus Instructor and a former Honorary Deputy Sheriff in Plymouth County.

Ken enjoyed travelling and has been to 42 states, Puerto Rico and 14 different countries. His favorite trips were to Western Europe. He loved social gatherings, fine food, music and was most happy making people smile. He will be sorely missed.

Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in Hanover on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM followed by burial at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:45 PM.
