
Mrs. Laura A. Whiting Haggerty, 94, of Rockland died Monday, June 20, 2005 in her home after along illness. The daughter of the late Burton and Alma Vining Whiting, she was born in Hanover on December 10, 1910. She was raised and educated in Hanover and lived in Rockland from the 1940's until moving to Whitman in 1966. She returned to live in Rockland in 1988. Mrs. Haggerty was formerly employed as the secretary for the owner of the former Hanover Rubber Company. Wife of the late Leo F. Haggerty, she is survived by 4 daughters, Marcia A. Willis of Summersworth NH, Laureen R. Dahiquist and her husband William of Rockland, Lynne C. Pratt and her husband, Donald of Rockland and Roxanne M. Himmelnan and her husband, Stephen of Amherst NH, 1 sister, Lucille McParlin of Rockland, 7 grandchildren, Brian E. Willis, Rebecca J. Willis, Jason M. Dahlquist, Aaron M. Dahlquist, Michael Haggerty, Genevieve A. Pratt and Ryan L. Pratt. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Michael F. ''Captain'' Haggerty and the sister of the late Wilfred B. Whiting, John Whiting, Oren Whiting, Alice Shields, Ruth McDonald and Aline Haggerty. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street in Rockland. Internment will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 41-45 East Water Street in ROCKLAND on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
