She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Margaret Lally, Kathy Looney, and Rosemary Reynolds, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Timothy Joseph Nevins and Rita T. Marino, as well as her stepfather, Leonard J. Marino.
Born on January 4, 1952, in Jamaica Plain, Laureen graduated from Fontbonne Academy in 1969 and Aquinas Junior College in 1971. She worked for 35 years at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Boston. In her retirement, she worked part-time for eight years as an office manager for the Galway Rovers Soccer Club of Cohasset.
Laureen found her greatest happiness in time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved days at the beach, reading, and evenings enjoying a glass of Chardonnay and watching her favorite Hallmark movies. She spent most of her adult life managing Multiple Sclerosis and will be remembered for her remarkable courage, dignity, and strength despite the escalating toll of the disease. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Pat Roche Hospice Home for their exceptional care and support.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church in 601 Tremont St., Duxbury on June 23 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life luncheon.
