Lawrence C. Erickson, 69, of Scituate, MA passed away on 12/12/25. He grew up and spent most of his life in Hanover, MA. He was the son of Richard and Betsey (Pool) Erickson. He was a proud graduate of Hanover High School, and studied at University of Miami before pursuing his passion in boats, transferring to the American Marine Institute. He started his career in Miami, specializing in high performance offshore powerboats, until he moved back to Massachusetts to start his own marina, South Shore Stern Drive, later known as Erickson Marine Services, in Humarock.
Larry’s true love was the water and anything to do with it. He continued to work on boats, never truly settling into retirement. He loved his dogs, ‘65 Chevy truck, Harley Davidson, snowmobiling, and being the funniest man on Facebook, posting daily jokes that made everyone laugh. He spent winter vacations in Pittsburg, NH chasing the snow, summer vacations on Lake Winnipesaukee, and downtime at home on Scituate Harbor. Sundays with his family were for the Spit. He had a passion for helping others where he could and being a great friend. His most cherished role, however, was as Grampy.
He is survived by his wife Cindy (Voss) Erickson, daughter Melanie (Erickson) Snyder and grandchildren Thorin (7) and Aubrey Snyder (4) of Hanover, as well as daughter Corinne Erickson and son in law, Justin Oakes, of Pittsburgh, PA.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in Hanover on Friday, January 2, 2025 from 3 pm-6 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Marshfield VFW from 6 pm-10 pm. Friends and family are asked to join us to toast to Larry one last time.
