Linda Carey

Linda (Luiz) Carey age 76 passed away peacefully in Pembroke, MA on March 17th, 2025 after a long battle with Alzhiemer’s disease. She was born in Boston, MA on January 21st, 1949 to Gabriel and Emily Luiz.

She grew up in Pembroke, MA and was a graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School. Linda held several positions locally including Silver Lake Regional High School, RS Means, and retired after 25 years from the Pilgrim Power Plant where she worked in the Document Control Department.

Linda is survived by her husband/partner Joseph Carey of 40 years, daughter Michelle Sheridan and husband Mark Sheridan, along with granddaughters Meghan Sheridan and Paige Sheridan of Kingston, MA. Step-son Nicholos Longo and wife Sabrina Longo, along with their children Rose Longo, and Quinton Longo of Framingham, MA. Siblings Virginia Hammond and her husband Robert, Elizabeth Edwards, David Luiz and his wife Anita , George Luiz and partner Lisa. Also she is predeceased by her siblings Susan Davis, and Richard Luiz.

Linda was a woman of great faith; she was a member of the St. Mary’s prayer group in Hanover, MA, a member of the Halifax Bible Study, and a member of the 3rd Order of Mary. Linda had a special faith relationship with her mother in law Anna Carey with whom she shared many spiritual pilgrimages. Linda was a talented painter, had a love for gardening, and had a passion for cooking. She loved to dance and spend time with her family and friends. Linda loved to travel and was always up for an adventure. She truly loved her treasured pets; Midnight, Brandy, Sophie, and Marley.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 24th from 9:00AM-10:30AM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanson- 2 Maquan Street. A funeral mass will begin at 11am at Holy Apostles Parish (Our Lady of the Lake) in Halifax - 575 Monponsett St. Burial will immediately follow at Pembroke Center Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be planned for mid-May, date and location to be determined
