

Mrs. Lois A. True Thomson, 80 of Hanover died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Daughter of the late Leroy and Eleanor Jewett True, she was born in New Bedford on November 27, 1930. She was raised and educated in Nantucket Island and was a graduate of Nantucket High School, Bridgewater State Teachers College and Boston University. Mrs. Thomson taught fifth grade in Kingston for 4 years and later taught fifth grade in Hingham for 6 years. She was a 25 year member of the Camp Fire Girls of America; she held several positions, such as Town Coordinator, District 3 Secretary and Secretary for the South Shore Council of Camp Fire Girls. Mrs. Thomson was a member of the First Congregational Church of Hanover and worked at the Well Child Clinic for the Hanover Visiting Nurse Association. She is survived by her husband John T. Thomson who she married in 1958, two children, Jeanne T. Dintermand and her husband John of Maryland and Douglas T. Thomson and his wife Kathleen of Hanover, five grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron and Kyle Dinterman of Maryland and Shestin and Zachary Thomson of Hanover, 1 sister, Janet T. Long of Mystic CT, 7 nieces and nephews and 13 grand nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., rte 53 in HANOVER on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Funeral Service on Friday at 11 AM in the First Congregational Church of Hanover, 547 Hanover St., rte 139 in Hanover.
