
Louis J. Civitarese, 86, of Port Orange FL died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 in the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach FL after a short illness. The son of the late Alfonse and Rita Marinucci Civitarese, he was born in Valhalla NY on April 24, 1916. He was raised and educated in Hyde Park and was a Graduate of Hyde Park High School. He served as a Firefighter for the City of Boston for 35 years until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Civitarese received the Fitzgerald Medal of Honor from the City of Boston for Heroism. He was a Member of the Local 718 of the Firefighters Union and was the Volunteer Manager of the Pembroke Food Pantry for 10 years before moving to Florida. He lived in Pembroke for many years, then in Hollywood FL before moving to Port Orange FL 4 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Natalie Landry- Sicuranza Civitarese, 3 sons, Louis Civitarese of Marshfield, Edward Civitarese of Dorchester, John Civitarese of Quincy, 2 daughters, Dorothylee Civitarese of Weymouth and Susan Alexander of Weymouth, 4 brothers, Raphael Civitarese of Dedham, Nicholas Civitarese of Dedham, Edward Civitarese of Florida and Joseph Civitarese of Ayer, 2 sisters, Mary Lennon of Walpole and Dorothy Grant of Roslindale, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the Brother of the late Dominic Civitarese, the late Tony Civitarese and the late Fogit. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 10 AM in St. Thecla's Church , 145 Washington Street, Rte 53 in North Pembroke. Interment will be in Pembroke Center Cemetery. Visiting Hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 in Hanover on Monday from 4-8 PM.
