

Margaret M. "Peggy" Saunders passed away peacefully June 2 at Wingate of Silver Lake, Kingston. Margaret was born in Boston, on April 15, 1919 to Francis Murray of County Cork Ireland and Gertrude Roche Murray of Boston. Margaret was the loving mother of Mark W Saunders and his life partner Bob Thoman of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Virginia M Hennessy and husband Frank Hennessy Sr. of Hanson, Francis M Saunders and wife Betty Saunders of Hull. Diane M Newell and husband Clyde F Newell Jr. of Norton. Mother in law of Dori Saunders of Stoughton. Predeceased by daughter Joanne M Saunders, son John S. Saunders, sister of the late Sr. Mary Ellen of Sister's of Charity, Nova Scotia, Canada. Also survived by nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and number 11 on the way. Dear friend of Pam Holmes, Plympton. Peggy was educated at St, Patrick's school in Roxbury. Peggy worked for American Optical and later for the Chief of Otolaryngology at Boston University. Peggy enjoyed writing with many letters published in local newspapers. Above all, was her love, joy and devotion to her family and friends. Peggy's faith shone through with her compassion and empathy for all. A very humble women who touched the lives of so many with her kindness and the ability to selflessly give of herself to all in need. Raising five children as a single parent with her beautiful heart that was nurturing, with an abundance of pure love. Mom was a precious gift to us all. Even at age of 95 her mind was sharp as a tack. We were all so blessed to have her. She was an angel on earth and now she has eternal happiness in the arms of God. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St, at the corner of Rte 14 & 58 in Hanson on Friday morning from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in ST. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St, Rte 14 in Hanson. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.
