

Marie (Gavin) Doran of Marshfield passed away peacefully on November 3rd at the young age of 76. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Marie was a devoted wife to James "Jim" Doran and became the proud parents of Brian Patrick and the late Ann-Marie Kathleen. Marie leaves behind her beloved and amazing granddaughter, Aislin Rose, her baby sister Patricia and lots of nieces and nephews.
Marie was born to her parents, Francis James Gavin of Chelsea and Marie Virginia Sheehan of Boston in 1945. Marie was a graduate of St. Gregory High School in 1962 and she received her B.S. of Education at Framingham State College in 1966. Marie went on to achieve her Registered Dietician's license as well as diligently working and earning her Health Care Administrator's License. All of this culminated with her dedicated work at multiple nursing homes across the State. Marie provided all the proper levels of nourishment for many different people with varying requirements. She dedicated over 35 years of service to many people as part of the American Dietetic Association of America.
In her spare time, Marie loved to make beautiful crafts and home decorations for all of the seasons and special events. Sewing was another love of Marie's. She was also an avid baker who challenged herself to new and innovative recipes. Marie and Jim were proud of and loved the home they built together in Marshfield. They also enjoyed spending time in their homes in New Hampshire and Maine. Marie had such a huge love and affection for all of life's treasures, big and small.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in Hanover on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM at St. Christine Church, 1295 Main St, Rte 3A in Marshfield. Burial will follow at Couch Cemetery in Marshfield.
