Marion Zabel

Mrs. Marion Louise Zabel, a longtime resident of Norwell, Massachusetts, passed away on August 5, 2024 at the age of ninety-eight. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who cherished family and the simple joys of life.

Marion dedicated many years of service as the head receptionist at the Christian Science Monitor Church and newspaper. Her commitment to her work and her warm demeanor left a lasting impact on those she encountered.

Beyond her professional life, Marion had a passion for swimming, boating, and expressing her creativity through art. She was an excellent artist, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and imagination.

She loved her religion. She was a devoted Christian Scientist from a very young age. She loved life and expressing life through the word of God. 

Marion shared 56 years of marriage with her predeceased husband, Glenn Zabel. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories. Marion was the mother of Raymond Zabel and his wife Ann Leonard-Zabel and the late June MacDonald. Grandmother of Jessica Govoni, Jason MacDonald, Justin MacDonald, Steve Zabel and the late Jessica MacDonald.  She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.  She will be missed.

A small funeral service and a private celebration of life will be held in her honor.
