Mark "Wally" Wallace, 69, a lifelong resident of Rockland, MA and graduate of Rockland High School passed away suddenly on January 6, 2023. He was the loving and devoted son of Commander Gerard V and Mrs. Virginia (Barry) Wallace. A Vietnam veteran, he followed in his father's footsteps serving in the U.S. Navy. He leaves behind his brother Robert and his wife Judith of Fort Myers FL, their three children, Robert Wallace of Park City, UT, Kathleen Goodwin of Mattapoisett and Bethany Paupeck of Syracuse, NY; his sister June and her husband Howard Reske Jr. of Duxbury and their three children, Kristen McManus of Pembroke, Kimberly Reske-Melchione of Duxbury and Brian Reske of Abington. Mark also leaves behind five great nephews and nieces and his lifetime best friend Alan Nihill of Pembroke.
Mark's family will remember him as someone who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life; a long afternoon drive, a sunny day spent fishing, playing the drums, the smiles seen on his great nephew and nieces faces (Wells, Winnie and Briella) when he would tease them with raspberries, going out to eat with his sister June, watching a good movie with his favorite dogs (Duke and Gus) laying by his feet or an afternoon spent working in the yard or the garage. There wasn't anything that Mark couldn't fix. His family will miss him immensely.
The family would like to express appreciation to Dr. Anthony Marks for the exceptional and compassionate care that Mark was given.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday, January 12th, 2023 starting at 8 AM at Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St. Rockland followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00am at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St in Rockland Burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
