

Marvin was born on June 23, 1950. He was raised in Quincy where he was a graduate of Quincy High School, class of 1969. Marvin began his lengthy produce career at Lambert’s and went on to manage the produce department of the Fruit Center for more than 20 years. Most recently, Marvin took great joy in being the Assistant Groundskeeper at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
Marvin was a hard-working, positive person with a great sense of humor, believing that life should be lived in the moment. He was always ready for a new adventure, whether traveling on road trips to new destinations or skydiving with his son.
Marvin appreciated the significance of the history that surrounded him, taking the time to learn more about historical figures or exploring the many historical sites within New England and beyond. Marvin enjoyed the numerous family gatherings and holidays throughout the years, earning high praise for his homemade pies and reveling in one-on-one conversations among the bustle of the crowd.
Marvin was the devoted husband of Elaine Veneto of Rockland, with whom he shared a loving relationship for more than 30 years; cherished father of Matthew Madden of Leominster and Elizabeth Kolacz of Marshfield; proud and loving Grampy to Zack and Victoria, who brought the greatest of joy to his life; brother of Joseph Madden of Indiana, Lynn Madden of Braintree and the late Michael Madden of Weymouth.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Sullivan Funeral Home in HANOVER - 551 Washington St., Rte. 53. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 9:00am at Holy Family Church in Rockland - 403 Union St. Burial will be immediately following at Holy Family Cemetery.
