Mary T. Mahoney

Mary T. (Fonte) Mahoney, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. The beloved wife of the late George E. Mahoney, Mary grew up in Central New Jersey and attended schools there before moving to Massachusetts in 1962.

Mary is survived by her five children; Elizabeth Mahoney of West Roxbury, Paul Mahoney and his wife Patricia of Pembroke, James Mahoney and his wife Maria of Foxboro, Mary Catherine Salamone and her husband Filippo of Norwood, and Andrew Mahoney of Bridgewater. Mary also leaves her cherished grandchildren Ryan, Alyssa, Patrick, Meaghan, Katie and Liam.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Rachel Fonte, Mary was employed for 10 years at Marylou’s News and covered local news for the Hanover Mariner for a period of three years. She attended Caldwell College for Women in New Jersey and later graduated from UMass Boston. Visiting hours will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Route 53, Hanover, on Monday from 4-7PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Angels Parish - St. Mary's, 392 Hanover Street, Route 139, Hanover, on Tuesday at 10AM. Burial to follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.
