Mary Teresa McGrath

Mary (Maureen) Teresa McGrath, 76 of Hanson and formerly of Weymouth, Boston, and Cregmore, Ireland, passed away on October 27, 2014. Born on March 1, 1938 in London, she was the eldest daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Rooney) Monaghan. Raised and educated in Ireland, Mary came to America when she was 16. Mary truly cherished spending time with her family and friends and was known for her warmth. Mary's humor and good nature brought joy to all who knew her. Mary's grace and ability to show thanks for even the smallest of life's blessings was an inspiration to all. Mary was well known for her love of family, horses, dogs, cats, and all living things that came to her door. Mary was the devoted wife of the late Richard McGrath. Loving mother of Katherine Prime and her husband Peter of Wareham, Susan McGrath, Colleen McGrath-Smith and her husband Rick, and Carol McGrath-Pestilli and her husband Craig, all of Hanson. Dear grandmother of Katey and Maria Pestilli, and Tara Adams. She is survived by her sisters Kathleen Lonergan of Boston, Julia Ann Collins of England, Peggy Maybin, Nonie Rourke, Bridget Casey, and brother Mickey Monaghan of Ireland. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 2 Maquan St. Cor. Rte. 14 & 58, HANSON, on Saturday from 4-6 PM, followed by a funeral home service at 6 PM. Interment will be private
